Overnight Tour Suggestions 2

Tour 17

A Fortnight of fun
  • Day1
  • Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport and book into a quality Hotel or Guest House.
  • For the rest of the day you take a tour of Soweto and Johannesburg City.
  • Relish traditional African cuisine at one of our top restaurants.
  • Day 2 & 3
  • Leave for Kruger National Park via Pretoria, spending the night at Pilgrim's Rest where you look around this picturesque town which is steeped in South Africa's Gold Mining history.
  • The next day you explore the natural wonders of the area, such as Bourke's Luck Potholes and God's window. Travel via Graskop and Sabie to Hazyview where you spend the night.
  • Day 4 & 5
  • After breakfast you move on to the Kruger National Park. Here you will go on daytime game drives and a night drive. There is an abundance of bird life and game which include the "Big 5" as well as the hippopotamus which has been declared the "6th".
  • Day 6
  • You travel through the sugar lands of Swaziland to the Ezulweni Valley which is in the forestry region of this tiny kingdom.
  • Here you will explore the area visiting the craft markets, candle makers and the glass factory.
  • Day 7 to 9
  • After a cozy night, you continue the adventure all the way to Durban in Kwazulu Natal.
  • See battle fields and cultural villages, overnight in the area and continue on to Durban via the Valley of a Thousand Hills, stopping at several quaint villages. In Durban, uShaka Marine world is a "must see". The beachfront has an informal market and other interesting shops and cafe's to visit.The restaurants are inviting too.
  • Then on to the airport where you fly to the town of George in the Eastern Cape on the renowned Garden Route.
  • Day 10 & 11
  • Your accommodation will either be overlooking the ocean or in the enchanting Lake area. Next day will be dedicated to exploring nature.
  • Hike through the forests and join a Tree Top tour or walk with the elephants!
  • On day eleven, before flying to Cape Town, you will have time for a short stroll through the village of Knysna.
  • Day 12 to 14
  • In Cape Town, your accommodation will be at the Waterfront.
  • Enjoy a trip to Robben Island where Mr Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.
  • Tour the city, spend a day in the winelands and see sites such as Cape point, the view from Chapman's Peak and take the Cable Car up Table Mountain (weather permitting).
  • On your last day you can visit the Aquarium at the waterfront and enjoy a little free time to do your last minute shopping before flying back to Johannesburg.

A Week of Wonders

  • Day 1 & 2
  • Depart Johannesburg to Hartbeespoort Dam where you book into one of the many comfortable lodges/ guest houses in the area for 2 days and 2 nights of good food and relaxation.
  • Experience elephants very personally.
  • Visit Inyoni Crocodile Farm.
  • Shop till you drop at the local informal African Market, which offers an array of true African arts and crafts.
  • Day 3
  • After breakfast, you book out and take a short tour of the local cheese farm and then move on to the Dietmar Gallery.
  • Book in at Lesedi Cultural village.
  • After lunch you are invited to join their afternoon program where you tour all the villages, enjoy the dancing and end the day with dinner in their colourful restaurant.
  • Day 4
  • Breakfast at Lesedi then travel to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve to a popular resort where you book in.
  • Lunch in the Park, then you spend the afternoon and evening at Sun City.
  • Try your luck at the tables, visit the Valley of Waves and the Palace of the Lost City.
  • Day5
  • You have the opportunity of an early morning game drive and after breakfast relax and enjoy the fresh air and the abundant bird life.
  • After lunch visit one of the many local attractions or go on another game drive - your choice.
  • Day6
  • After breakfast, we travel to the town of Groot Marico, booking into a Guest House in time to join the special tour of the day which includes Mampoer tasting. Something unique!
  • Day 7
  • After a hearty farmhouse breakfast, the tour takes you back to Johannesburg discovering some of the many places of interest on the way.
  • You can choose to end the tour exploring the Sterkfontein Caves or visiting the Lion Park on the way back to an hotel at O. R. Tambo International Airport.
  • An alternate ending to the tour would be to continue on to Madikwe Game Reserve, which is close to Groot Marico, and spend a day or two in this virtually unexplored area where you see wild dog and other endangered species. The accommodation is luxurious and relaxing.
